Our Club Name and Crest
Our club name and crest were designed to reflect our local area. We wanted our name to show that we serve not only Athens but all of Limestone County. The cotton plant is found on the City of Athens crest which is proudly worn by our city officials and first responders. We decided to incorporate that symbol into our club crest and name our club Cottontown United in order to show that our club stands as the premier youth soccer club that is uniting all club level soccer players of Athens and LImestone County.
Club Fees
Cottontown United is a completely voluntary organization. We have no paid staff. We strive to keep our cost for each player as low as possible and still provide club level play. Our fee is $400 per season (spring or fall) or $800 per year. This fee covers US Club Soccer registration fees, field leasing and upkeep cost, and club equipment. Our goal is that every player that wants to and is ready to play at the club level be able to regardless of financial restraints. We allow players (parents) to break up their fees in payments throughout the season if needed. We also offer scholarships to players whose financial need is beyond a payment plan. If a player needs scholarship they should contact their coach or the DOC (Director of Coaching)
Other Cost
-In addition to that cost players can expect to pay about $50 for each tournament that their team decides to play in and the player attends.Coaches will collect this before each tournament to pay the tournament entry fee for the team. Other costs to consider are travel and hotel expenses for any tournament that requires overnight stay.
-Players also purchase their own uniforms from our online club store set up through soccer.com. This allows players to purchase more than just the basic kits, they can also get warm ups, back packs, and replacement items throughout the year.
